Mars
Dissonant marsian aspects (dominant Mars)
by Richard Pellard
English translation by Julien Rouger

The interpretation examples that we are suggesting are very far from being exhaustive : they only show and outline a general frame describing the issues of the aspect. They should therefore not be taken literally. Each being brings indeed its own responses, more or less original, to the questions raised by an aspect. There is no magic formula. Through using the R.E.T. and the Theory of Ages and combining logic, observation and imagination, you will be able to develop a thousand other possible meanings, a thousand other variations on the same theme.

Dissonant Mars-Moon aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Moon ‘p’ ↔ Mars ‘P’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you oppose a brutal and restless activism to all forms of tranquility, harmony and peace. You go from irritation to irritation, and you feel constantly obliged to shake those and those around you lest they abandon themselves comfortably to dream or serene contemplation. You exhaust yourself in vain efforts. Everything happens as if you were not really inhabiting your actions and your experiences, as if you were constantly “outside of yourself”. Clumsy, aggressive and perhaps destructive, your violent impulses and your raw and hurtful language lead you to sow discord in the clan of your intimates and in any group in general. The calm and comfortable atmospheres are unbearable to you, just like the daily grind that you seek to escape by multiplying the reckless experiences. Untimely agitated or brave fighter, you sacrifice your tranquility and that of your loved ones on the altar of your struggles.

Dissonant Mars-Sun aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Sun ‘P’ ↔ Mars ‘P’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you claim a freedom of action that suffers no order, no goal, no constraint. Reactive, even aggressive, you willingly take on anything that represents authority. Viscerally undisciplined, you allow yourself to be dominated by your destructive impulses which make you a counter-example, a model not to be followed. You want to live at close range, to experiment live, without taking into account the laws, standards and models in use. Your messy dynamism attacks any form of conservative stasis. Your primary realism, aiming for immediate effectiveness, seems devoid of any idealism. Your vigorous, blunt frankness and senseless agitation seem to be the only laws you know and obey. Passionate, quarrelsome, the rules of social life are for you only hypocrisies against which you must fight without concession.

Dissonant Mars-Mercury aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Mercury ‘tR’ ↔ Mars ‘eE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : completely absorbed by what you do, live and experience intensely, you are incapable of the slightest playful or distracting distance. Too frank, awkward, even aggressive, you are not available for any relaxed and relaxed listening : you do not know how or cannot take beings, things and situations lightly. You say and do as you feel, without worrying about being heard. Hence the communication problems that you are tempted to solve hastily : a spade is a spade, and too bad for the nuances and subtleties of language. The duels of existence are not a game, let it be said. Your mechanical and senseless activism, riveted in the immediate, the here-and-now, denies you any curiosity, any forward-looking imagination. You live at close range, in the heart of your situation, obtuse and closed to abstractions, insensitive to interesting novelties, to unexpected and perhaps enriching discoveries for the mind.

Dissonant Mars-Venus aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Venus ‘eR’ ↔ Mars ‘eE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : frank, brutal, impatient to act, to confront beings, things and situations, you consider yourself dispensed from any delicate attention. Your insane dynamism, your wild activism make you deaf and blind to the affective expectations of others. The theater of your heart, of your friendly or romantic duets, is a battlefield, a permanent duel, governed by power relations excluding tenderness, compassion, sweet and beautiful feelings. Rudeness outweighs grace with you. Your frankness without frills and without regard for the sensitivity of others prevents you from realizing that you are words that hurt, words that kill. Taken up by what you are doing right now, by your mechanical activities, you no longer know how to be moved by the beauty of things. Boorish and rough-hewn, you are the opposite of the voluptuous Prince Charming.

Dissonant Mars-Jupiter aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Mars ‘eE’ ↔ Jupiter ‘rE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you seem incapable of inserting your experience, your instinctive acts, your turbulent impulsiveness within the framework of the norms and models that regulate life in a group or in society. You act to act and live to live, prisoner of a disheveled activism, devoid of any goal, any project, any sensible and reasonable perspective. You are good at acting against your well-understood interests and seem unable to learn from your experiences. Viscerally undisciplined and in favor of an unfettered existence, you rebel against all authority, all consensus, all conventional order, which are for you only monuments of hypocrisy. Where it would be necessary to parley and negotiate, to unite rather than divide, you exhaust yourself and those around you by unleashing, with aggressive vigor, struggles, conflicts and showdowns.

Dissonant Mars-Saturn aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Mars ‘eE’ ↔ Saturn ‘tE’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you seem unable to take any distance whatsoever in your immediate experience. Devoured by your impatience to act, to launch yourself passionately into the experience, you neglect all calculation, all strategy, all prudence. The long-term consequences of your rash actions don’t seem to worry you. You exhaust yourself in struggles and various conflicts so as not to have to question yourself about the root causes of your behaviors. Point-blank activism is for you a remedy, often worse than the disease, against melancholy, doubt, disenchantment. You fear situations of idleness where there is nothing to do, where you risk finding yourself faced with yourself, your questions, confronted with the deep meaning of your existence. Your down-to-earth realism makes you reject abstractions, which you consider useless waste of time.

Dissonant Mars-Uranus aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Mars ‘eE’ ↔ Uranus ‘rT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you brandish your undisciplined experience against any form of audacious and organized cerebrality. You rush headlong into your activities, struggles and conflicts without bothering to develop a clear, precise and rigorous program beforehand. Absorbed by what you are doing mechanically in the immediate future, prisoner of your present situation, you are incapable of penetrating and synthetic views and blind to the emergence of fundamental movements which could radically upset your existence. You aggressively and arrogantly oppose your experience, your feelings and your down-to-earth common sense to any powerfully structured theory, which you consider a vain construction of the mind. You are viscerally undisciplined and resistant to any authority that you quickly assimilate to despotism. You recklessly embark on impossible challenges.

Dissonant Mars-Neptune aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Mars ‘eE’ ↔ Neptune ‘eT’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you spend your time acting impulsively, recklessly, almost as if you were running headlong and without a compass into a thick, dense fog. Living at close range, riveted to the here and now, you do not listen to the movements of your deep sensitivity, the warnings that your intuition whispers to you. Your brutal and down-to-earth realism, cut off from the imaginary, has nothing to do with manifestations of the strange, subtleties, chiaroscuro situations. You indulge in your mechanical activities to combat your lack of inspiration, soul, inner richness. You aggressively brandish your personal experience against any form of collective solidarity, which you feel is a threat to your freedom to act in your own way. You bravely and needlessly fight ghostly windmills.

Dissonant Mars-Pluto aspect (conjunction, opposition, square)

Mars ‘P’ ↔ Pluto ‘P’ Conjunction (consonant or dissonant aspect) Opposition (dissonant aspect) Square (dissonant aspect)

If and when Mars dominates : you deploy constant activism to ward off your metaphysical despair, your intuition of the vanity and nothingness of all things, or to avoid being confronted with the vertiginous silence of being-in-itself. You refuse and fight radically any cold distance that could prevent you from feeling that you exist stronger, more intense. You are capable of making and unmaking—even destroying—anything, in defiance of any profound universal truth. The complexity and mystery of beings, things and situations is reduced for you to an elementary duality, to a schematic combat in which you commit all your violence and your aggressiveness. You brandish your personal experience against the heavy laws of the species. Your abrupt and desperate realism respects nothing, neither itself, nor the sacred, nor the enigmatic order of the universe.

Les significations planétaires

par Richard Pellard

620 pages.
